Jeremy Shuman

Director of Global Programs
Jeremy Shuman, Director of Global Programs

As the Director of Global Programs, Jeremy oversees the establishment and growth of eye banks in developing countries. His tasks include in-country site evaluations, eye bank management and training consulting, and eye bank program development.

Jeremy has served as a Consultant and Volunteer Faculty with ORBIS International and as a team member evaluating SightLife’s international eye bank projects. Furthermore, he has served as a volunteer for safe water projects and clinic refurbishment in Vietnam with MEDRIX and as a science teacher with the United States Peace Corps. Jeremy has lived, studied, and/or worked in many countries in different capacities and traveled to many more. His most significant experiences were in China, Australia, Vietnam, India, Japan, and Samoa.

As a team member with SightLife since 2000, Jeremy has served in all operational areas, with his most recent role having been as Technical Director. Within the Eye Bank Association of America, Jeremy serves on the Technician Education Committee, has been a speaker on Distribution topics at EBAA Annual Meetings, and has participated in the Cornea Collaborative.

Jeremy has a degree in Biology and earned his Masters of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

He is involved in his local community as a volunteer with the Seattle-King County Public Health Reserve Corps and nationally as a member of the American Public Health Association. His interests include skiing, camping, home improvement, hiking, and travel.

Manoj Gulati

Country Director, India/Director, Global Programs
Manoj Gulati, Senior Consultant and Director, Global Programs

Manoj Gulati has more than 15 years experience in consulting, operations, and business development, which includes working at several large management and technology consulting firms with a strong focus on delivering enterprise-wide solutions, driving innovation, and managing customer relations. His consulting experience helps him understand the needs of each eye bank, create appropriate transformation strategies, and manage a portfolio of projects effectively.

Manoj has an MBA from Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business from the Institute of Management Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from Bangalore University in India. He has extensive community volunteer experience both in the US and in India, with a passion for helping those in need. Even as a teenager in Kolkata, India, Manoj organized an eye camp for 220 low-income and medically deprived citizens. Manoj is married and has two sons. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, cooking for friends, and being a swimming coach.

Saurabh Biswas

Program Manager, India
Saurabh Biswas, Program Manager, India

Saurabh Biswas comes to SightLife from Aqua Management Consulting Group, where he handled multiple complex projects in business planning, processes, and organization design. Prior to this he was with Capgemini, India, as Senior Consultant, handling projects in healthcare, media and entertainment, infrastructure, and process manufacturing industries. In the nonprofit world Saurabh has supported Child, Relief and You (CRY), India, in IT, training, and marketing related projects.

Saurabh completed his MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology( IIT), Kharagpur. Saurabh is originally from Kolkata, a major city in Eastern India, and has lived in all major regions of India. Outside of work, Saurabh has a passion for painting, trekking, and traveling.

Yogesh Jadhav

Program Manager, India
Yogesh Jadhav, Program Manager, India

Yogesh Jadhav comes from the world of finance and has worked with international firms like Societe Generale and Arete Research, evaluating wireless semiconductor markets and building investment cases on disruptive-technology companies. Early in his career, he managed commercial banking and credit operations at Bank of India with a focus on agricultural and development finance. For the last two years, he has delivered multiple social projects as a Volunteer Team Leader at SGI-UK. As Program Manager for SightLife, he will be responsible for managing relations with various partner eye banks.

Yogesh has a Master's degree in Management from ESCP Europe in Paris, and William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He also holds an MA in Economics and a BS in Physics and Mathematics from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. Yogesh grew up in the tribal areas of Central India, followed his passion, studied and worked in France, the USA, and the UK until he recently decided to return to India to pursue a career in social entrepreneurship. Yogesh is highly passionate about applying a world-class perspective to grass-root level issues such as eye banking. Outside work, he loves spending time with his infant daughter and enjoys cooking. His other interests include creative writing, playing cricket, and taking long drives in the countryside.

Mridula Chettri Singh

Mridula Chettri Singh, National Distribution Manager, India

Mridula Chettri Singh has been working in the field of eye care for over 7 years as Founding Editor of Ophthalmology World Report, a practice-oriented magazine for ophthalmologists across India. As the leader of the editorial team, she was responsible both for the complete edition and for building a network of surgeons as contributors and advisors. Prior to that she had been a mainstream journalist for 7 years in publications like India Today and The Asian Age and also worked in the field of conservation with a magazine brought out by the Centre for Science and Environment. As SightLife's National Distribution Manager in India, Mridula will be instrumental in building the surgeon network throughout the country and establishing a robust tissue distribution program.

A graduate from Delhi University, Mridula comes from the Darjeeling hills in eastern India, famously known for its "champagne of teas." She hopes to become a top chef one day and often uses her husband for testing new recipes. Mridula is passionate about reading and music, preferably with a cup of tea in hand.

Michelle Chamberlain

Global Leadership Development Manager
Michelle Chamberlain, Global Leadership Development Manager

Michelle Chamberlain joined the Global Programs team to develop a global training strategy and programs.

Michelle has over 7 years of leadership development experience at companies such as Boeing and Washington Mutual and over 10 years in the field of organizational development. Michelle is an experienced project manager and human resources professional with a reputation for assessing, designing, and implementing successful solutions to business problems for organizations ranging from 60 to 120,000 employees. She has been recognized for building and leading strong cross-functional teams, assessing organizational culture and readiness, and designing a variety of effective tools, processes, and learning experiences to address business and leadership needs.

Michelle has a degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a masters degree in Organizational Psychology from Antioch University. She is on the Advisory Council of Water 1st, a non-profit engaged in solving the global water crisis. Her interests include spending time with her family, cooking, reading, yoga, skiing, and anything that involves sunny warm weather.

Brian Washburn

Global Training and Development Manager
Brian Washburn, Global Training and Development Manager

Brian Washburn joined SightLife's global department to address the rapidly expanding need for training programs. Brian brings twelve years of experience as a learning and development leader along with work experience in Paraguay with the Peace Corp. For the last 5 years, Brian has been the National Training Director for the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, an organization that supports more than 1,000 child advocacy programs across the United States. He had full responsibility for initiating, designing, facilitating, and evaluating all programs the Association offered their 3,500 staff and 70,000 volunteers. Brian was also named one of Training magazine's Top Young Trainers in 2011.

Having two young children, when Brian isn't working, his two current hobbies are reading kid’s books and trying to sleep through the night!
