Meet Our Staff: Clinical Services
Tom Miller
Director of Clinical Services
Tom Miller is a born and raised Washingtonian who traveled the world while in the military.
He joined SightLife in late 2000, bringing 14 years of healthcare experience to his position as Clinical Services Director. During Tom's eight years of service in the Navy as a hospital corpsman, his duty stations included Navy hospitals, clinics, and the Marines, where he provided medical support prior to and during Operation Desert Storm. After leaving the military, he worked at a local area hospital as a supervisor in the laboratory.
In his spare time, Tom enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his kids.
Andrea Crosson
Medical Review Manager
Andrea Crosson grew up in the greater Seattle area town of Lake Stevens and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Cell & Molecular Biology. Andrea previously worked for SightLife as an Eye Bank Technician, Referral Coordinator, and Medical Review Coordinator. She has also worked for Northwest Tissue Services as a tissue coordinator.
Andrea likes to run, paint, and shop. She also enjoys playing with Coach, her cocker spaniel.
Christina Cooper
Quality Assurance Coordinator
Christina Cooper grew up in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a degree in biology.
Before joining SightLife, Christina volunteered for a year as a program assistant at Sojourner Place, a transitional house for women. She counts this among her proudest accomplishments. She also assisted with cancer research projects for a summer as an intern at Northwest Biotherapeutics.
Christina is interested in traveling of all kinds, cooking for friends, and Seattle's music scene.
Paul Trizuto
Quality Assurance Coordinator
Paul Trizuto, originally from San Francisco, holds a degree in Biology from Humboldt State University. Prior to working at SightLife, he was an employee at Northwest Tissue Services.
Paul has a wide variety of interests outside of work. He enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, cycling, photography, and painting.
Christopher Capuzzo
Medical Review Coordinator
Before attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Christopher Capuzzo grew up in Brownsboro, Alabama. After receiving a B.S. degree in Psychology, Christopher joined the Alabama Eye Bank.
As a coordinator, Christopher works with the families of eye tissue donors to obtain consent for recovery. He also reviews donor chart records that help distribution coordinators determine suitability of recovered tissue for transplant.
Christopher enjoys spending time outdoors when he's not working at SightLife. A recent transplant to Seattle from Alabama, he's also very excited to teach us how a real barbeque is done.
Rene Maldonado
Medical Review Coordinator
Rene Maldonado's roots began in Oaxaca, Mexico, where he was born. At age six, his family moved to Eastern Washington, where they have lived since. Although Rene moved to Seattle, he still remains deeply rooted in E. WA with frequent visits to family and friends.
Rene graduated with a B.A. in Biology from Whitman College. In 2001, he started working as a recovery technician for the Eye Bank and later became full time. Since then, he has become a SightLife Coordinator and earned his CEBT in 2004. Being part of a humanitarian organization that is a global leader of sight restoration is important to him. Knowing that through his work he has helped enhance people's lives is both rewarding and motivating.
On his time off, Rene has been busy traveling throughout the west coast. Other things he enjoys are movies, TV, and lots of music.
Gary Virdell
Medical Review Coordinator
Gary Virdell grew up in Friday Harbor, Washington, and holds a degree in Applied Health Sciences from the Naval School of Health Sciences in San Diego.
Gary brings with him 25 yrs experience in the Navy, more than 20 of those as an Independent Duty Corpsman. Gary was a military health care provider as well being an instructor of basic life support (BLS), CPR, first aid, and combat casualty courses. His most recent position included being the director for six naval vessels' medical departments, ensuring readiness and standards compliance. During his years in the Navy, Gary received numerous honors, including 5 Commendation Medals and 3 Achievement Medals.
Gary is married and has four children, the youngest in high school. He enjoys playing sports, coaching, and joining in outdoor activities, including gardening, fishing, camping, and hunting.
Andy Musson
Medical Review Coordinator
Andy grew up in Southeast Alaska, Vermont, and Northern Idaho. He holds a BA in English Literature with a minor in Biology from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He also studied at the Wilderness Medicine Institute of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) where he was certified a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT and NREMT-B).
He enjoys running and triathlon with a goal of completing an Ironman. He is recently married and enjoys spending time travelling, wine tasting, backpacking, and exploring Seattle with his new wife. He volunteers with the King County Public Health Reserve Corps, helping respond to local emergencies, and is an instructor for CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding courses through the American Red Cross.
Holly Schlentz
Medical Review Coordinator
Holly Schlentz, who earned her degree in Biology from the University of Reno, is originally from Vancouver, Washington. She's been a member of the National Mass Fatalities Institute since 2003 and served as a Deputy Coroner in Washoe County, Nevada. Having worked as a Donor Coordinator for the Lions Eye Bank of Oregon, she joins SightLife with significant eye bank referral experience.
Holly likes to hike, read, and play poker and board games with her husband and two daughters. She also loves to cook.
Bryana Cross
Medical Review Coordinator
Bryana Cross grew up in Arizona and holds a degree in law from Seattle University.
For fun Bryana likes to hike, cook, and travel.
Miles Kueffner
Medical Review Coordinator
Miles Kueffner grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, and holds a degree in Spanish and English from Union College. While in school, Miles was privileged to graduate cum laude and to be a member of the Spanish honors society.
In her free time, Miles enjoys music, traveling, and exploring her new home in Seattle.
