Drew Maxwell
Director of Operations
Dedication to detail and careful implementation of innovations that improve eye banking efficiency are hallmarks of Drew Maxwell's career at SightLife. During his time in Seattle, Drew directly helped deliver the gift of sight to 6,863 corneal transplant recipients while serving in nearly every job capacity in the organization.
He joined SightLife in 2001 as a recovery technician. Then as an Eye Bank Coordinator responsible for counseling families about the option of cornea donation, he facilitated 1,339 recoveries that resulted in 2,473 transplants. As Laboratory Manager and Technician Trainer, he wrote, produced, and even acted in the SightLife Recovery Training DVD still used today. Drew also served in the Quality Assurance Department during a time of rapid change in eye banking technology and compliance requirements, and as Medical Review Manager from 2009 to 2012.
Drew's ability to facilitate coordination between personnel and departments comes from this first-hand knowledge of every aspect of the organization. In supervisory roles, he balances high expectations for departmental performance with steady, consistent coaching and a reputation for fair-mindedness.
Before joining SightLife, Drew served in the United States Air Force for four years, where he was personally awarded a Commendation Medal.
